At UsabilityHub we’re helping businesses be more human-centred by making user research easy to conduct and fun to participate in. Over the past ten years we’ve helped thousands of organisations conduct design research and improve their products, from Amazon to NASA to Reddit to Zendesk... and many more.
We’re a bootstrapped, profitable, and sustainable company, with a focus on building great products, not chasing growth for the sake of it. Our product team (currently six people) works efficiently using modern practices and tooling, and together we get a lot done.
While we expect a lot from team members, we also know that there’s more to life than work. We don’t work overtime or weekends, or have a culture of unrealistic deadlines. You’ll have the option of working 0.8, 0.9, or full time, if you have side projects or other commitments or interests outside of work that you’d like to have more time for. You can expect us to provide a work environment that is supportive and encouraging.
You will have significant responsibility and autonomy, and will write, review, and ship code to our customers daily.
You'll be working with the team to add new features to our existing products (UsabilityHub and UserCrowd), maintain and improve the code-base, and scope out and build our upcoming new product.
You will also contribute to and influence our processes, tooling, and architecture to help us continue building a highly efficient product team. We want to learn from you, and we hope you will learn from us too.
Ideally you’re a generalist who is capable across back-end (Ruby, Rails, Postgres) and front-end (React/Redux/Typescript), but if you specialize in one area and are still getting up to speed in the other, don’t let that dissuade you from applying. It’s more meaningful to us that you’re a great developer and a keen learner.
Please fill out our short application form with a few details about yourself and your technical skills.
We're happy to chat with anyone about the role, even if you're not actively looking for a new job. If you know anyone who might be a good fit, please send them our way :)
