Are you excited by the idea of designing products used by thousands of your peers? Help us redefine the way organisations like Amazon, NASA, Reddit and Zendesk test designs and conduct user research!
At UsabilityHub we’re helping businesses better understand their customers by making user research more accessible. Over the past ten years we’ve helped thousands of organisations conduct design research and improve their products.
We’re profitable, sustainable and self-funded. We’re deeply invested in the products and the company culture we’re building. Our small, Melbourne based team works efficiently to deliver an outsized amount of value relative to our headcount.
We’re looking for a senior UI designer to own the look and feel of our products. Our team is comprised of T-shaped people, so ideally your visual and UI design skills are complemented with some experience or interest in user research and front-end code.
You will have a perfect blend of artistry and a detail-oriented approach, when it comes to interface design. You will look to craft, concept and deliver product interfaces, and be proactive with end-to-end design solutions, looking to challenge yourself each and every time. You will love working at various stages of a product’s lifecycle, and have a strong understanding of user centred design and IA.
You will need to have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be well-organised, and be disciplined at documenting conversations and decisions. A typical day might involve collaborating with a UX designer on research and information architecture, developing and testing wireframes and prototypes, refining our visual style guide and component library and working with developers to get product updates launched.
While we expect a lot from team members, we also know that there’s more to life than work. We don’t work overtime or weekends, or have a culture of unrealistic deadlines. We offer a lot of flexibility if you have interests or commitments outside work that you’d like to have more time for. You can expect us to provide a work environment that is supportive and encouraging, with no politics, infighting, or bad vibes.
Please include a portfolio of your work along with your application. Visual examples are nice but of particular interest are the challenges you encountered and the approaches you took to solving them. An outline of your process will be highly appreciated.
We're happy to chat with anyone about the role, even if you're not actively looking for a new job. If you know anyone who might be a good fit, please send them our way :)
